Catchplus > Projects > Common services > Workspaces > Users
Some CATCHPlus tools require a ‘space’, linked to a user or a user group, in which the user can gather relevant data and in which the tool can work: a workspace. These workspaces offer several advantages:
- Uploading (‘ingesting’) resources is a part of many heritage use cases. By linking this function to the workspaces a common reusable module can be developed, makeing the work for each seperate institution redundant.
- Adding basic matadata and defining clusters of resources is a part of the workspace services.
- A wokspaces is a platform for plugging in and invoking several (CATCHPlus) services, like the manuscript transcription and search of SCRATCH4All.
- Most tools and services need some form of authentication. Links in wokspaces enables you to manage this authentication joinlty in a central way. At a later stage, it will be possible to join existing sollutions (based on OpenID and/or SAML 2.0).
